Spa Sweethearts Women’s Institute, Harrogate

Welcome to the site that will tell you all you need to know about Spa Sweethearts WI.

Most people will have preconceived ideas about the Women’s Institute; jam and Jerusalem will spring to most minds! And even though jam making did feature in our first year, there is much more to it than that.

We aim to challenge women to leave their preconceptions behind and come to the WI with an open mind. Whether you visit Spa Sweethearts, or another WI which is closer to home, we want you to get as much from your experience as we do – so forget those stereotypes and find out what the WI is really all about.

After a fantastic response to our 100 Years, 100 Members campaign in the WI centenary year of 2015, we had more than 100 members in Spa Sweethearts.

If you are not a member yet but want to come along you can attend most of our meetings as a guest. Click here for more information on guest places.

Check out our 2019 programme, to see what we are up to this year. We aim to make it as varied and interesting as possible, and all we ask is that members come to as many meetings as they can and give everything a go – you never know, you might find a new hobby or a hidden talent along the way! And every month, we have meetings of our craft group, book club, board game players, cocktail enthusiasts and more, which are only open to members. What more could you ask for?

You can find out more about us on this website, visit our Facebook page or get in touch if you want to ask any questions.

We look forward to seeing you at a future meeting. You’re guaranteed a warm welcome!

NEXT MEETING… Thursday 13th June

June brings a very exciting meeting for Spa Sweethearts – our very own treasure hunt with an Indie twist. We will be going out and about in Harrogate, exploring, hunting and having fun. For this month we will not be meeting at our usual home of Christ Church but instead a location in town. This will be announced closer to the time so keep an eye out on this site or on Facebook to get the latest details.

All members who will be attending will need to sign up via eventbrite, to let us know you are definitely attending. The eventbrite link is now active (but more details will be available soon and we will circulate the link again).

Sign up will be closed on Monday 10th June. Please ensure that we spend only what is required on catering by signing up, and committing to attend the event.

See you there!
