At our November meeting we were joined by Gordon from Elite Meats. Gordon explained the history of his butcher’s shop, based on Starbeck High Street, and the importance they place as a business on working with a small selection of farmers so they know the exact source of the meat they sell. We got to sample some of the amazing things they have on offer… bacon, sausage and beef…all of which were delicious! Members then had some excellent questions for Gordon including about how to prepare and cook certain cuts of meat, and how to get the most out of the meat you buy.
Elite Meats run butchery courses but Gordon also told us that they would soon me running a cookery school which sounds really exciting.
