Spa Sweethearts WI was formed with the aim of giving people a way to make friends and have fun, so socialising is to be a big part of what we do. Outside our monthly meetings, the social committee helps to organise things for us to do such as quizzes, theatre trips and nights out. If you have a suggestion of something we could do together, you’d like to help organise events or if you would just like to come along to events then please see our Facebook group for further information.
The craft group meets every few weeks, depending on when members are available – usually the first Thursday of the month. People bring their own craft projects to work on, but we are also currently working on a joint project: bunting depicting our history and experiences so far. We will provide the materials and instructions for this and members give up their time and skills to put everything together. If you’d like to help us, or would like to bring your own craft project along to one of the craft sessions send us an email or visit our Facebook group.
The book group tends to meet on the third Thursday of every month often at a pub so members can enjoy a drink or two while discussing the latest book. If you are interested in going along, please send us an email or visit the Facebook group.
Board games group
Some competitive Sweethearts meet regularly to play boardgames – and we’re not just talking Monopoly. If you’re interested in obscure games which hardly anybody has heard of, but which are great fun, this group is for you. For further information send us an email or visit the Facebook group.
The cocktail group meets monthly for a night out in Harrogate, we like trying out new venues so if you have any recommendations please let us know. For further information send us an email or visit the Facebook group.
Mother and youngster group
If you are interested in the mother and youngster group, please get in touch with a committee member or send us an email.
